Obituary of Norbert A. Kacz

KACZ - Norbert A. "Norm" Loving husband, father, grandfather and friend went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, April 20, 2021, after living a long full life. Norm was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Audrey. He is survived by his children, Cheryl Viola (Jack), Michael Kacz (Diane), Gary Kacz (Nancy), Debora Kirbis (late Joseph), Michele Gibson, Sandra MacVittie (Nathan); his grandchildren, Sean, Amy, Andrew, Elizabeth, Trevor, Jordan, Casey, Taylor, Steven, Caitlin, Alexandria, Jake, Austin, Jaclyn, Christopher, Nicholas; and eight great-grandchildren; brother of the late Jerome (Sharon) Kaczorowski and Gloria Machelski. Norm worked for most of his life, starting when he was eight years old. He would walk to St. Luke's Church, climb the steeple and ring the bell each morning at 6 AM, and then again at night for a nickel. In his adult years, he worked two full-time jobs. He proudly served the City of Buffalo as a Firefighter, until his retirement in 1980, followed by his retirement from Overland Express ten years later. Norm continued to work and finally retired in 2017 from Cardinal Health. Norm was not only a father to his six children, but to others who were blessed to have him in their lives. He was a great softball and pinochle player and enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching college basketball and football. He loved the country and deeply appreciated the beauty within it, and gave his family and many others, a place to go that created joyful memories that will never fade. Of all the people in his life, his grandchildren were his crown jewel. He taught many of them how to drive and not to give up - no matter how hard the challenge. He attended every game possible, regardless of the weather and never failed to coach from the sidelines. Norm will be sadly missed by all those who's lives he touched. No prior visitation. Private services. Please share your condolences and memories online at:
